Product Journey
The Scottish Cashmere Collection
Animal Welfare, Sustainability, Traceability, Support UK Manufacturing
It begins with the goats
We would not have a product for you to wear and keep warm without the goats. The goats our yarn supplier uses to get the raw fibre are a hardy mountain dwelling breed of the Gobi Desert.
The goats are combed once per year when the temperature increases (and they no longer need their coats to keep warm) and this raw fibre is sent to the processing mill in Scotland.
Why are the goats not in Scotland?
It’s the climate, not suitable for them in the UK and we don’t want them to be removed from their happy and safe place.
The process involves sustainable herding and the best grazing practices to promote high standards of animal welfare to protect the traditional way of life within the communities where they live.
The Yarn
The natural fibre is processed in Scotland, using meticulous and time-consuming processes that follow generations of knowledge passed on to the modern era but staying true to sustainability and local heritage.
The Manufacturing
The manufacturing process of knitting and finishing the full garment is in Scotland. We visit the factory on a regular basis to oversee the process and are proud to support UK manufacturing for both jobs and longevity of keeping this skill alive in the UK.
The Packaging
All picked with sustainability in mind, recycled materials and protecting our environment is always at the forefront of our decisions
